O.J., Honey Among Items Ripe for Food Fraud




Calling food adulteration a "major global problem for the food industry," researchers at the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention have determined ingredients most likely to be watered down or tampered with include olive oil, milk, honey, saffron, orange juice, coffee and apple juice, MSNBC said.

Calling food adulteration a "major global problem for the food industry," researchers at the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention have determined ingredients most likely to be watered down or tampered with include olive oil, milk, honey, saffron, orange juice, coffee and apple juice, MSNBC said. The organization's report, published in the Journal of Food Science, defines food fraud as “any substitution, addition, tampering or misrepresentation of ingredients for profit.”
